The play told the life story of boxing legend Jack Johnson and after watching it, Ali told Jones that if you replace the problems caused by Johnson's love for white women with Ali's religious preferences, the two great boxers had virtually the same life story.

This picture of Mitsuyo Maeda (1878 – 1941) was taken around 1910. Maeda was a Japanese judoka who is reported to have won around 2000 no holds barred fights and along with Antônio Soishiro Satake, he pioneered judo in Brazil, the United Kingdom, and other countries. Edith Margaret Garrud was an early 20th century female jujitsu expert who used her considerable skill to train a group known simply as the Bodyguard. They were tasked with giving protection to Emmeline Pankhurst and other suffragettes, who were regularly manhandled and harassed by police.

Female Archers at the 1908 London Olympics

Archery first appeared in the modern Olympics in 1900 and then again in 1904, 1908 and 1920,
after which it disappeared from the games until 1972.



These female archers are competing in the National Round Archery event of the 1908 London
